Series PreviewUtah Valley heads to Pullman, Washington this week to take on Pac 12 Washington State in a four-game series beginning Thursday at 4 p.m. PT/5 p.m. MT. It's the first true road series for the Wolverines this season, who have played eight of nine games so far this season at neutral sites.
UVU (4-5) went 2-3 last week, winning a midweek game against San Francisco before dropping three of four at Santa Clara's Jack Gifford Memorial Tournament. The Wolverines fell to host SCU on Friday before a 2-0 loss to UC Davis on Saturday. The weekend wrapped up with a Sunday twin bill with Utah Valley losing 6-5 to Saint Joseph's before a 10-8 win over UC Davis.
Greyson Bogden had a big week for the Wolverines, batting .458 with three home runs and six runs batted in.
Patrick Wolfe also continued his excellent relief work early on, making two appearances and combining on 7.2 innings and allowing just one run on two hits while striking out 11. He struck out a career-high eight against Saint Joseph's on Sunday, and through just four appearances the junior southpaw is only two strikeouts shy of tying his career-best total.
