ON DECK
Utah Valley University is scheduled to play four at Creighton beginning Friday at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. The series begins with an evening game on Friday, at 6:30 p.m. CT/5:30 p.m. MT. A doubleheader on Saturday will begin at 1 p.m. CT/noon MT with Sunday's finale also slated for the same time.

IN THE HOLE
Utah Valley plays its first in-state game of the year next Wednesday, March 22 at Utah. Two days later, the Wolverines will begin WAC play at UT Rio Grande Valley. That series will wrap up a streak of 12 straight and 19 of 23 road games to start the season. The next time UVU is home will be March 30 in the first of three against Sac State in league play.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley was swept in four games at Pac 12 Washington State last weekend. The Wolverines were hurt by big innings of six runs or more in each of the last three games.

UVU did have a couple of bright spots offensively, with Zac Willis going 8-for-15 (.533) and Jackson Overlund hitting three doubles in the series. Overlund's 10 doubles on the season have him ranked third in the country in that category.

Willis is now batting .339 overall and has a team-leading three home runs and 10 RBIs. During a recent six-game hit streak, Willis went 15-for-26 with two home runs, seven RBIs and six runs scored. Trevor Peterson continues to lead Utah Valley at the plate with a .351 average.

ABOUT CREIGHTON Creighton (1-10) has not played since March 8 in a doubleheader at Air Force. The Blue Jays have lost seven straight after opening a tournament at Santa Clara with a 3-1 win over the Broncos. The home schedule was supposed to open last week against WAC school CSU Bakersfield, but weather forced the cancellation of that series. A midweek at Kansas State was also cancelled on Tuesday.

SERIES HISTORY VS THE BLUE JAYS Creighton won three of four in the only prior series meeting between the teams. The series took place during the 2015 season in Omaha. The Blue Jays won the first two games by scores of 6-2 and 4-3 before the Wolverines picked up a 2-1 win in game three. Creighton on the finale 11-3.
