Irlbacher tied for 25th, UVU tied for 13th in Seattle

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Sophomore Nathalie Irlbacher is leading the way for the Utah Valley University women's golf team, as she sits in a tie for 25th place after 36 holes of play at Seattle U's Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Monday at Tacoma Golf & Country Club. As a team, UVU sits in a tie for 13th place out of 18 teams with a 33-over-par 609.
 
The Wolverine sophomore fired rounds of 76 and 73 on Monday to hold a 5-over-par 149 and sit in 25th place. She also led the team on the day with six total birdies, which included birdying a trio of consecutive holes during Monday's second round. 
 
Senior Kaylee Shimizu too had a strong day for UVU, as she sits right behind Irlbacher in a tie for 32nd place with a 6-over-par 150. After opening with a 6-over 78 during the first round, Shimizu responded by carding Utah Valley's best score of the day with an even-par 72. 
 
Senior Kate Williamson is next for the Wolverines with a 9-over-par 153 (73-80) to sit in a tie for 50th place, while freshman Victoria Estrada is in 74th at 13-over (79-78—157) and junior Bailey Henley rounds out UVU's field of five in 94th (81-83—164). 
 
As a team, the Wolverines find themselves in 13th place with a 33-over-par 609. UVU carded scores of 306 and 303 on the day to enter Tuesday's final round in 13th place. 
 
Gonzaga leads the event with an 8-under-par 568 (290-278), while WAC foe and host Seattle U (292-295—587) and fellow WAC opponent Grand Canyon 294-293—587) are tied for second at 11-over-par, and Nevada (298-290—588) and Cal State Fullerton (292-296—588) are tied for fourth at 12-over. Despite sitting in 13th place, UVU will enter Tuesday's final round just two strokes back of Santa Clara for 12th (607), three strokes back of both High Point and in-state foe Weber State for 10th (606), and eight shots back of Hawaii for ninth place (601). By sitting in 13th, Utah Valley currently sits ahead of Wyoming (611), CSUN (614), Montana (619) and North Dakota (624). 
 
Gonzaga's Quynn Duong is the current individual leader with a 6-under-par 138 (69-69). 
 
The two-day, 54-hole event will conclude on Tuesday with the tournament's final round beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. MT/8 a.m. PT. Live scoring can be followed by visiting BirdieFire.com.
