OREM, Utah – Utah Valley baseball returns home this week for one game against Pac-12 foe Washington State. They will hit the road later this week for a three-game WAC series at Utah Tech starting on Friday, Apr. 28.
All games will be streamed, as the game against Washington State will air on ESPN+, and the weekend series at Utah Tech will air on WAC International. GoUVU.com will have an audio-only stream of all games. Live stats will be available on UVUstats.com.
The Wolverines last weekend won their second straight conference series by winning two-out-of-three against first-place Sam Houston. After stumbling in the opener, UVU rallied to win 15-9 on Saturday before winning the finale at 2-1.
Daniel Dickinson led the offensive charge for the Wolverines and finished the week 10-for-17. The strong pitching performance from
Casey Anderson resulted in six complete innings without allowing an earned run.
Nick Sims came in to finish the final 3.0 innings, only surrounding one hit.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
Washington State enters the game at 24-14 and 7-10 in Pac-12 play. They are coming off a series win at home against WCC foe Santa Clara. They will return to Pac-12 play in Salt Lake City against Utah this weekend. WSU has won a series against No. 15 Oregon State, No. 12 UCLA, and Arizona this year. Sam Brown leads the Cougars with a .379 average and eight home runs. As a team, they are hitting .290 and will test the pitching staff of UVU. On the hill, they have a team ERA of 4.89.
ABOUT THE TRAILBLAZERS
Utah Tech enters 9-31 overall and 4-14 in WAC play. The Wolverines have won four of the last five meetings in the Old Hammer Rivalry. The previous meeting was in Orem on Apr. 17, when UVU pulled out an 8-6 victory. The Trailblazers fell to Utah this week in a mid-week game but held their own last weekend with Grand Canyon, and despite a 1-16 road record, they are 8-15 at home with wins over Portland, Wichita State, South Dakota State, BYU, and Sam Houston. Shane Taylor leads the lineup hitting .322 this year.
DICKINSON NAMED WAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Daniel Dickinson became the second award winner this year. Last week, he hit .588 with nine runs scored, one homer, and four RBIs.
Casey Anderson had won WAC Pitcher of the Week a couple of weeks back.
THE WOLVERINES MAKE A JUMP IN THE RPI
After the series win over Sam Houston, Utah Valley jumped 34 spots in the RPI from 205 to 171. It is the highest that UVU has been since Mar. 23, when they were 176.
