Tucson, Ariz. – Utah Valley freshman
Daniel Dickinson earned a national award today when he was named to Collegiate Baseball's 2023 Freshmen All-American team.
"This is a tremendous honor that culminates a spectacular freshman season. We are excited for Danny's future and continued development," said UVU head coach
Eddie Smith.
In his first year in Orem, Dickinson earned First-Team All-WAC honors after breaking multiple freshman records at UVU, including hits (82), 59 runs scored, 19 doubles, 42 RBIs, and total bases with 130. He finished with a team-high .376 batting average on the season and a .410 average in conference games, with seven of his nine homers coming in conference games.
He became the first player since 2009 to hit three home runs in one game to lift UVU over Stephen F. Austin 8-3. He later went 4-for-4 with five runs scored against in-state rival Utah Tech to help the Wolverines to an 8-6 victory over the Trailblazers.
The Wolverines are hosting several summer camps this summer. You can visit uvubaseballcamps.com for more details.
