OREM, Utah — Utah Valley baseball alumni are in full swing during the 2026 professional season, with one in the majors, two rising through the minor leagues and several competing in independent leagues. In total, nine former Wolverines are currently playing professional baseball, with more hoping to sign this summer.
Paxton Schultz – RHP – Washington Nationals
Schultz has spent most of the 2026 season with the Nationals and is currently 0–2 with a 5.49 ERA over 19 2/3 innings, recording 22 strikeouts. The Orem native logged six outings of at least one inning in May without allowing an earned run. His longest appearance of the season came in April against the San Francisco Giants, when he threw three innings out of the bullpen.
Casey Anderson – RHP – Amarillo Sod Poodles (Arizona, Double-A)
Anderson is in his first full season with Amarillo and has settled into a bullpen role. He is 3–1 with a 4.62 ERA and two saves in 25 1/3 innings, striking out 29. In his latest outing against Midland, he touched 99 mph to earn his second save. In May, he posted a 1–1 record with a 3.65 ERA as he pushes for a promotion to Triple-A.
Mitch Mueller – RHP – Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (Minnesota, Single-A)
Mueller recently skipped High-A and was promoted directly to Wichita, making his debut the same night against Springfield. He recorded his first strikeout at the level in a two-thirds inning outing before the game was suspended. While in Fort Myers, he made 15 appearances, collecting two saves in 18 innings. He recently returned to the sunshine state to throw for the Mighty Mussels.
Patrick Mills – 1B/OF – Billings Mustangs (Pioneer League)
Mills has appeared in 11 games for Billings and has homered in half of them to open his third Pioneer League season. He is slashing .370/.432/.553, including a two-homer performance against Idaho Falls on May 20 after going deep on Opening Night.
Garrett Broussard – INF – Florence Y'alls (Frontier League)
Broussard recently went 6-for-6 against Schaumburg, tying a Frontier League record. In his first season playing third base for Florence, he is hitting .329 with two home runs and seven RBIs. He has appeared in 20 games and is averaging just over one hit per game.
Cole Jordan – INF – Ogden Raptors (Pioneer League)
Jordan is off to a scorching start with a .413 batting average through his first 12 games. He has already hit five home runs and appears poised to surpass his career-high 12 from last season. He opened the 2026 campaign with a four-game home run streak, all in Boise against the Hawks.
Calyn Halvorson – UTL – Lincoln Saltdogs (American Association)
Halvorson is hitting .250 in his first season with Lincoln. He has appeared in 10 games and recorded two-hit performances twice against Sioux City.
CJ Colyer – RHP – Billings Mustangs (Pioneer League)
Colyer is in his second season with Billings and has made five bullpen appearances, logging 6 2/3 innings with 12 strikeouts. In back-to-back outings against Idaho Falls, he retired five of the six hitters he faced, including striking out the side on May 28.
Chance Wallace – LHP – Ogden Raptors (Pioneer League)
Wallace, the first member of UVU's 2026 roster to sign a professional contract, made his debut on May 27 against Missoula. He threw one inning and recorded his first professional strikeout.
