OREM, Utah — Utah Valley has its first player from the 2026 roster to sign a professional contract, as left‑hander
Chance Wallace joins the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League. Wallace heads to Ogden after spending one season at UVU following a standout career at Pacific University in Oregon.
"D3 to D1 to pro ball," UVU head coach
Nate Rasmussen said. "All Chance did during his time with us was work extremely hard and compete. It's awesome to see how that can lead to childhood dreams coming true. We're so happy for him, and we're excited to watch his career go."
Wallace appeared in 23 games for the Wolverines during the 2026 season, finishing with 24 1/3 innings pitched and 26 strikeouts. He recorded a Division I career high against BYU of the Big 12, throwing three innings with four strikeouts. He showed the ability to perform in both matchup situations and long relief, logging multi‑inning outings against Northern Colorado, Air Force, Tarleton State, Abilene Christian, and UT Arlington.
During his time at Pacific, Wallace posted a career season in 2025, going 3–4 in 11 appearances and 10 starts. He logged 55 innings with 58 strikeouts and recorded a collegiate‑best 12 strikeouts against Whitworth on March 30, 2025, in 6 1/3 innings.
He is the third Pacific University transfer to Utah Valley to advance to the professional level, following
Isaac Lovings (2024) and
CJ Colyer (2025).
