OREM, Utah—Utah Valley University baseball hits the road for a four-game road trip that starts with three in Riverside against first-place California Baptist (27-14, 13-5). The series begins Friday, Apr. 26, at 7:00 p.m. MT from James W. Totman Stadium. The Wolverines are two games behind the Lancers, who are tied for first place with Grand Canyon. The road trip will conclude on Apr. 29 with a non-league game against Utah Tech to close out the Old Hammer Rivalry for this season.

ABOUT THE LANCERS
The Lancers enter the weekend at 27-14 and 13-5 in WAC play. It will mark the first time the two have played since the 2022 season, when they played six times in the regular season. CBU has won one of the best pitching staffs on the West Coast and is led by Brandon Downer and Lucas Pirko, who ranked second and third in ERA in the WAC. The Lancer offensive attack is led by two-time WAC Hitter of the Week Nick Dumensil, Mitchel Simon, and Michael Carpentier.
ABOUT THE TRAILBLAZERS
The Wolverines are looking to sweep Utah Tech after winning the first three matchups in Orem. All were WAC contests, as UVU won two games by the mercy rule. The Trailblazers enter this weekend at 10-30 and 8-13 in WAC play and will host Abilene Christian. Hank Dodson and Hunter Katschke lead the offensive attack.

THE RACE FOR THE WAC
The Wolverines' 11-7 record in WAC play leaves them two games behind the WAC co-leaders, California Baptist and Grand Canyon. Utah Valley plays six of its final 12 against the co-leaders to give them a chance to gain ground on the leaders and stay alive for a WAC regular season title.
UP NEXT
Utah Valley will host Seattle U for a three-game series next weekend in Orem. It will be the first time since 2018 that they have played in Orem. All other meetings have taken place in Seattle or at the WAC Tournament in Mesa. UVU hosts their final midweek game of the season on May 7 with the Crosstown Clash against BYU. The Wolverines won the previous meeting against the Cougars.
