ARLINGTON, Texas—Utah Valley junior outfielder
Nate Bach was named TicketSmarter WAC Hitter of the Week for his performance during the week of Apr. 1-7.
"What a great reward for hard work and perseverance out of
Nate Bach. He started the season as our three-hitter, but by the time WAC play started, he wasn't even in our starting lineup. He never complained, just kept working, and the rewards of his resiliency are being recognized," said UVU head coach
Eddie Smith.
Bach finished the week hitting .500, going 7-for-14 with two home runs, including a three-run blast against Utah this past Tuesday. He had a standout weekend in UVU's sweep of Utah Tech, where he hit .556 (5-for-9) with a solo home run while adding four other hits and scoring six of Utah Valley's 32 runs in the series.
It is the first time Bach has won the award, and he's the first Wolverine to receive the honor this year. In 2024, he is tied for second on the team in home runs with 11 and has driven in 29 runs for the UVU offensive attack.
Utah Valley hosts NCAA DII foe Northwest Nazarene on Tuesday, Apr. 9, at 4:05 p.m. MT. UVU won both matchups last year with the Nighthawks. They will then travel to Edinburg, Texas, for a three-game series at UT Rio Grande Valley this weekend.
