Wolverines set to host Northwest Nazarene

OREM, Utah— Utah Valley baseball will conclude a five-game homestand with DII Northwest Nazarene on Tuesday, Apr. 9, at 4:05 p.m. MT. UVU holds a 3-1 record on the current homestand and won both regular-season matchups with the Nighthawks last season.

BROADCAST INFO
The game will air on ESPN+ with Jordan Bianucci on the call. GoUVU.com will carry an audio-only broadcast with live stats on UVUStats.com.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines swept Utah Tech over the weekend for their second WAC sweep of the season. They outscored the Trailblazers 32-6 on the weekend, winning two games via the ten-run rule. It was a dominant performance with the bats as they hit .330 as a team and scored 15, 11, and six runs in the three games.

ABOUT THE NIGHTHAWKS
Northwest Nazarene is 21-9-1 on the year and came in No. 10 in the NCBWA DII Poll last Wednesday. Gavin Brubaker leads NNU, hitting .324 on the year, but the power has come from Cal Poly transfer Trevor Tishenkel, who has gone deep eight times so far this season. They are a team that likes to run, having 70 stolen bases this year, with Carter Walsh accounting for 19.

BACH WINS TICKETSMARTER WAC HITTER OF THE WEEK
UVU junior outfielder Nate Bach was awarded the TicketSmarter WAC Hitter of the Week. Bach finished the week hitting .500, going 7-for-14 with two home runs, including a three-run blast against Utah this past Tuesday. He had a standout weekend in UVU's sweep of Utah Tech, where he hit .556 (5-for-9) with a solo home run while adding four other hits and scoring six of Utah Valley's 32 runs in the series.

WATCH DICKINSON ON THE BASES
Daniel Dickinson is a perfect 19 for 19 on the bases entering the game on Tuesday. He needs three to pass Nick Connor (2005) for the most stolen bases in a single season. If he gets six more stolen bases, he will pass Chris Benson (2011) for the most all-time with 35.

UP NEXT
Utah Valley will travel to South Texas this weekend for a three-game series against UT Rio Grande Valley. The series starts on Friday, Apr. 12, at 5:30 p.m. MT from UTRGV Baseball Stadium. UVU will return home on Apr. 19 for a three-game series against UT Arlington.
