ARLINGTON, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) named Utah Valley's Landon Frei the University Credit Union WAC Hitter of the Week. Frei finished the week hitting .375 with four home runs and 13 RBIs to help lead the Wolverines to their first series win over Grand Canyon since 2016. California Baptist's Julian Orozco was named Pitcher of the Week.

"Landon has been tearing it up all season, and it's awesome to start seeing them fall consistently.  He really makes our lineup go. I can't wait to see what he does next," said UVU head coach Nate Rasmussen.

His week started with two multi-hit games against UNLV in Las Vegas. In the series finale, he went 3-for-5 with five RBIs and three runs with a homer. He continued to swing a hot bat at GCU, where in UVU's 18-2 victory over the Lopes, he went 3-for-5 with five RBIs and two home runs.

Frei enters the game with BYU hitting .318 with 35 games played and 47 hits this season. He is tied for the team lead with ten home runs and 48 RBIs while adding 22 walks. He has tallied a .416 OBP and a .588 slugging.
