Utah Valley set to play #12 Oregon in the Eugene Regional

5/26/2025 11:48:00 AM

INDIANAPOLIS – Utah Valley baseball is headed to the Eugene Regional hosted by the University of Oregon. The Wolverines are slated to play the host Ducks on Friday, May 30, at PK at 7:00 p.m. MT / 6:00 p.m. PT. The regional will also include Arizona (Big 12) and Cal Poly (Big West).

The selection to the regional will be Utah Valley's second appearance in the field of 64. They were also in the field back in 2016 in Baton Rouge.

The Wolverines and Ducks have met only once in program history, in 2019, with Oregon winning 12-9 in Orem. This season, the Big Ten regular season champions are 42-14 and have been 22-8 inside PK Park with victories over WAC foes Grand Canyon and Utah Tech.

Arizona is the No. 2 seed and enters the regional with a 39-18 record, including an 18-12 conference record. They won the Big 12 Tournament this past weekend in Arlington with a 2-1 victory over TCU. The Wildcats and Wolverines have played 22 times in the past, and that includes one of UVU's marquee D1 wins when they beat No. 4 Arizona back in 2012 in Orem.

The final team in the regional is No. 3-seeded Cal Poly from the Big West. The Mustangs won the Big West Tournament this past weekend and will head to Eugene with a 41-17 overall record and a 23-7 conference record. UVU hasn't played them since the 2021 season when they dropped the series in San Luis Obispo.
