The Utah Valley University women's golf team continues its spring season this week at the West Texas Classic, March 2-3, at Abilene Country Club (North Course) in Abilene, Texas. The two-day tournament is hosted by Abilene Christian and features a strong NCAA Division I field competing over 54 holes.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The West Texas Classic will be contested over two days in stroke play format. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by a final 18-hole round on Tuesday. Both days will feature an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start. The tournament will follow a play-five, score-four format.

TOURNAMENT FIELD
The field includes Abilene Christian, Bowling Green State, Drake, Lamar, Oklahoma City, Prairie View A&M, South Dakota State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Southern, Texas Tech, Incarnate Word, Northern Colorado, UT Arlington, UTEP, Toledo, and Utah Valley.

COURSE INFORMATION
Abilene Country Club (North Course) will serve as the host venue. The par-70 layout will play at 6,246 yards and features a traditional Texas design that challenges players with strategic approach shots and demanding greens.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley dropped a 4-1 decision to Washington State at The Classic Club to conclude play at the Mountain Classic Match Play.

Valentina Zuleta secured the Wolverines' lone point of the day with a 2&1 victory over Grace Rubelsky. After dropping the first two holes, Zuleta rallied and built momentum on the back nine before closing out the match on the 17th hole.

Alyssa Butterfus fell in a tightly contested 1&0 match to Anya Cedo. Pati Uluave dropped a 2&1 decision to Agnes Brink, while Maria Ortiz was defeated 2&1 by Hannah Harrison. Chloe Jang fell to Kaitlyn Helm 7&5.

Utah Valley concluded the three-day Mountain Classic Match Play event at The Classic Club.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following the West Texas Classic, Utah Valley will return to Utah to compete at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational, March 6-8, at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.
