Wolverines set to play Utah on Tuesday in Salt Lake City

OREM, Utah — Utah Valley baseball travels to Salt Lake City on Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. MT start against Utah. This will be the season finale between the two in-state foes, with the Utes having won the two prior meetings this season.
 
BROADCAST INFO
Tuesday's game against Utah will air on ESPN+, with Bill Riley and Zach Burrows on the call. The game will also air locally on 103.9 and 98.3 ESPN The Fan, with Jordan Bianucci and Brice Larson calling the action from Salt Lake City.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 loss to California Baptist in the series finale that saw the Lancers leave Orem with a sweep. The offense was led by Hunter Katschke, who finished 6-for-12 with three homers over the weekend. He set UVU's single-season record with his 19th of the year on Friday night as part of a two-home run effort for the senior.
 
On the mound, Maddax Peck and Bradley Gilbert both had solid outings on Sunday. Peck went a career-high five innings, allowing four hits with five strikeouts. Gilbert added four innings and allowed just one hit with three strikeouts.
 
SCOUTING UTAH
The Utes enter Tuesday's midweek matchup 23-19 overall and 11-13 in the Big 12. They won their weekend series in Utah County against BYU. Utah is hitting .308 as a team, with Cameron Gurney batting .376 in 42 games this season. He is second on the team in RBIs behind Jake Long with 52 and has added 10 homers on the year.
 
Former CBU starter Ryan Kittredge is slated to make the start. He has made 14 appearances, including two starts. He pitched one-third of an inning against UVU on March 31, giving up four runs on three hits. He did not appear in the second game.
