OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley will play its final 11 games of the 2009 baseball season away from home beginning with a four-game series at Northern Colorado this weekend. The teams meet Friday at 3 p.m., in a doubleheader Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday's at noon. All games can be heard live at WolverineGreen.com.

Earlier in the week, the Wolverines (13-29) split their final two home games against in-state rivals. UVU defeated BYU 7-2 on Monday behind Billy Burgess' grand slam and seven strong innings from Justin Smith. Utah spoiled senior night on Tuesday with an 11-8 win to clinch the season series.

Jace Brinkerhoff enters the weekend needing just one hit to become Utah Valley's all-time NCAA career hits leader. He'll surpass Eli Slesk, who played three of his four seasons at Utah Vallley at the NCAA level and one while the school was still a junior college. Brinkerhoff is batting .419 with 70 hits.

UVU will play a three-game series at Dallas Baptist next week before wrapping the season with four games at Hawai'i.

Northern Colorado (11-30) swept a two-game mid-week series, ending a 13-game losing streak. They defeated the falcons 20-14 on Tuesday at home behind seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. On Wednesday UNC won at Air Force, 7-6.

The Wolverines won three out of four in an offensive-filled series earlier in the year in orem. The Bears hit 12 home runs in that series including seven in the series finale that UVU won 19-14. The Wolverines scored eight times in the eighth to get the win.

Riley White was 9-for-15 in the series and hit for the cycle in the the final game of the weekend. UVU leads the all-time series 11-7.
