OREM, Utah - Utah Valley travels to Northern California for a four-game series at Sacramento State beginning with a Friday doubleheader at 11:30 a.m. pT. The Wolverines (10-21) and Hornets (17-12) will also play two on Saturday with first pitch also scheduled for 11:30 a.m. PT.
UVU is coming off of one of its most complete performances of the year in an 8-2 win over Utah on Tuesday.
Four Wolverine pitchers combined to throw a two-hitter and Kirk Doxey homered for the fourth straight game. Doxey, this week's Great West Conference Player of the Week, has six home runs in the last four games including a three-homer day last Saturday vs. Air Force. He leads the team with nine home runs and 10 stolen bases.
Brock Sargent started and got the win against the Utes, throwing five innings and allowing no earned runs (two total) on the two Utah hits. Kole Mickolio, Riley Gordon and Justin Smith three four hitless innings in relief.
