IN THE HOLE
Utah Valley heads to Omaha and TD Ameritrade Park to face Creighton in a four-game series starting Friday, March 17. It's the second time the Wolverines will travel to face the Bluejays. Creighton hosts WAC school CSU Bakersfield this weekend.

LAST TIME OUT
UVU split a four-game series against Indiana State to open the 2017 home schedule last week. In the opener, the Wolverines trailed 4-2 in the seventh before scoring two in the inning and adding three more in the eighth. Nick Simmons delivered a go-ahead RBI double and Jake Atkinson followed with an RBI triple that turned out to be the game-winner.

The Sycamores swept a Saturday doubleheader before the Wolverines came back to earn a series split with a 9-7 win on Sunday. Simmons and Trevor Howell both homered in the finale, with Patrick Wolfe collecting his second save of the series and third of the season.

Zac Willis homered twice in the series and had six RBIs. His first home run was a three-run shot in the first game of the Saturday twin bill before a solo home run led off the eighth of the second game.

ABOUT WASHINGTON STATE
The Cougars (6-4) swept Stephen F. Austin over the weekend finishing off the series with a combined no-hitter. Four different pitchers combined on the no-hitter that featured a rare three runs scored by the team that was no-hit. Washington State opened the season at WAC school Sacramento State, dropping two of three to the Hornets.

SERIES HISTORY VS THE COUGARS
Utah Valley is playing at Washington State for the second straight season. The teams have met 17 times prior with the Cougars winning 11 times. Fifteen of the game have been played in Pullman. In 2016, the Wolverines won three of four, winning their first series against Washington State.
