ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Utah Valley University women's golf team sits in fifth place out of 12 teams after two rounds of play at the BYU at Entrada Classic on Monday at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George.

UVU is currently in fifth place after carding a 37-over-par 613 on the day with rounds of 310 (+22) and 303 (+15).Â

Junior
Keila Baladad is leading the way for the Wolverines in a tie for 11th place with a two-round tally of 6-over-par 150. After recording an opening round 77 (+5), Baladad responded by firing a 1-over-par 73. Baladad carded four birdies in each round to sit just one birdie back of the tournament lead with eight.Â

Freshman
Lauren Taylor too had a strong opening day of the event for UVU by sitting in a tie for 21st place after tallying a 9-over-par 153. After starting with a 79 (+7) in the first round, Taylor then posted a 2-over 74 to move up 17 spots and enter a tie for 21st.Â

Fellow freshman
Victoria Estrada is just one shot back of Taylor to currently find herself in a tie for 25th with a 10-over-par 154 (80-74). Junior
Bailey Henley, who is playing the event as an individual, also sits in the top 30, as she is currently tied for 30th with a 11-over-par 155 (76-79).Â

Kaylee Shimizu round out UVU's competitors in the event, as they are respectively sitting in a tie for 39th (77-80—157) and 48th (78-82—160).

Sitting in fifth place, UVU will enter Tuesday's final round currently ahead of Northern Illinois (+40), Santa Clara (+40), Wyoming (+44), Princeton (+46), Southern Utah (+46), Portland State (+49) and Boise State (+55).Â

North Texas is leading the tournament with a 3-under-par 573 (290-283), while Iowa is in second (+18), the host BYU Cougars are in third (+19) and Idaho is just four strokes ahead of UVU for fourth (+33).Â

Teammates Lauren Cox and Patricia Sinolungan of North Texas are tied atop the individual leaderboard at 3-under-par.Â

The BYU at Entrada Classic will conclude on Tuesday with the tournament's final round beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT. Following BYU at Entrada, the Wolverines will head to the islands to take part at Hawaii's Anuenue Spring Break Classic at The Bay Course at Kapalua Resort on March 23-25. Â
