Leighton Shosted shot a final-round 1-under-par 71 on Tuesday at Riverside Country Club to finish third in the 53-player field at the BYU Riverside Classic with a three-round score of even-par 216 (75-70-71).
As a team, Utah Valley shot a 17-over-par 305 in the final round to finish eighth on the team leaderboard with a three-round 50-over-par 914 (313-296-305). Sacramento State won the team title at 8-over-par.
The third-place finish for Shosted is her best finish of the season. It also marks her fourth top-11 finish of the season.
"I am very proud of Leighton and her finish in this tournament," said Utah Valley head coach
Juli Erekson. "She battled all week to put herself in a good position today."
Abbey Porter carded a 9-over-par 81 in the final round to finish in a tie for 36th with a three-round score of 14-over-par 230 (78-71-81).
Lauren Taylor shot a 2-over-par 74 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 44th with a three-round 19-over-par 235 (78-83-74). Taylor recorded three front-nine birdies in her final round.
Caylyn Ponich carded a 7-over-par 79 in the final round to finish 47th at 23-over-par 239 (83-77-79). Ponich recorded a front-nine birdie in her final round.
Pati Uluave shot a final-round 11-over-par 83 to finish 48th with a three-round 27-over-par 243 (82-78-83).

Millie Terrion, and
Jacklyn Gonzalez played as individuals at the tournament. Estrada carded a final-round 10-over-par 82 to finish 49th at 31-over-par 247 (77-88-82). Millard carded a 9-over-par 81 in her final round to finish 50th at 36-over-par 252 (87-84-81). Terrion shot a 10-over-par 82 on Tuesday to finish 51st at 37-over-par 253 (87-845-82). Gonzalez carded a 13-over-par 85 in the final round to finish 52nd at 38-over-par 254 (87-82-85).
Utah Valley now travels to Blaine, Washington to compete in the WAC Championship, April 23-25, at Semiahmoo Country Club.
