Sacramento State enters the series 28-21 and 12-6 in WAC play. The Hornets won two of three against GCU last weekend in Phoenix. They have long been known for their pitching, and that is still the case this year. Evan Gibbons is 8-1 this season with a 3.82 ERA and will get the ball on Friday. In late-game situations, they will turn to RHP Kade Brown, who leads the WAC and is No. 3 in the country with 13 saves.

As a team, they hit .281, with Jacob Poturnak leading the way with 12 homers and a .317 batting average. Luis Pimentel-Guerrero and Tyler White are both hitting over .320 in the lineup.
