LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines return home after a five-game road trip in California, where they finished 1-4 on the trip, winning one with Sacramento State and dropping non-conference matchups to UC Davis and Pacific.

ABOUT THE LUMBERJACKS
Stephen F. Austin is off to a slow start to the 2024 season at 3-16. They have lost 15 in a row after going 3-1 on opening weekend. They were swept last weekend at home in the WAC opening series against Grand Canyon. Nolan Brown leads SFA in hitting at .327 and has added some pop with the bat, hitting six home runs this season and seven doubles. Peyton Parker has added six doubles for the Jacks, who enter Orem second in the WAC in doubles.

LAST TIME VS. SFA
The Wolverines hold a 2-1 all-time series lead over SFA. They met for the first time in 2023, and after the Lumberjacks won the series' first game, UVU evened it up with a 3-1 victory behind a career-high eight strikeouts from UVU pitcher Ethan Fowlks over 5.1 innings. Nick Sims added 3.0 innings of relief, allowing only one hit. In the series finale, Daniel Dickinson had the first three-homer game for UVU since 2009 as he went deep in the first, second, and fourth innings to help Utah Valley to the 8-3 win.

GO TO FIRST
The Wolverines have been hit by a pitch 34 times this season that's good enough for 24th in the country. Calyn Halvorson has been hit seven times, and Burke Camper has been hit six times this season. In his UVU career, the backstop reached first via being hit 22 times, which is tied for seventh all-time.

UP NEXT
Utah Valley will head to Arizona State for a two-game midweek series at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. It marks the first time since 2009 that the two schools have played on the diamond. The Wolverines will be back at home next weekend for the Bushnell Beacons, an NAIA school from Eugene, Ore.
